Filippine.

The Philippines, a country with extraordinarily beautiful nature, is still undergoing important changes and social development. It is a country full of contradictions where breathtaking scenery is side by side with incredibly squalid suburbs, where unbridled luxury coexists with absolute poverty. Numerous religious and lay missionaries share in the everyday life of the barangays amidst mountains of garbage and cardboard shacks surrounded by children without assistance and, often, without even the love or affection of their families. The book highlights the dramatic aspects that often are either lost in the shadows or little known. That is why the photos may seem strong, perhaps even cruel, but the reality one reads in them is harsh because, for many, life in the Philippines is harsh.
